My Personal Wailing Wall

If you find you're not able to on the first try...

visceral-beauty asked: Namaste, bitch! Yes!! And yeah somehow Sarah Palin is still a thing. She was thinking about running, but then she didn't. All the republicans I follow probably cried. Republican women: "now there's a REAL feminist! Not one of them lesbo witch fetus eaters!"

Sarah Palin was “thinking” about collecting more money… but she decided that the millions she had already defrauded a bunch of idiots out of was enough (which is fine since they would have ended up sending that money to some other idiot).

I’m posting this publicly because the last line made me laugh aloud and spit on my computer screen a little. :)

finding beauty in the wretched: So white People Continue to be Culturally Insensitive and Not Fucking Care

stfuandlistenwhitepeople:

I’m pretty sure that you’ve all heard of the popular Sexy Sweaters blog that rose to fame late fall of last year. Well, the two creators of the blog, Alec and Greta have created a new “network” for people with image blogs. Not that there’s anything…

Not to mention that they used the name “Allah” and a Hindi-inspired font instead of an Arabic one.

Culturally insensitive, stupid, and completely oblivious? Wow. It’s usually just two of the three at a time that I encounter.

The rule, which requires airlines to roll mandatory per-passenger taxes and fees into the advertised fare, went into effect this week as part of a new package of Department of Transportation airline passenger protections. Prior to the rule, airlines could advertise the base fare or show it on the first screen of online fare results, adding taxes and fees later in the shopping process.
[…]
“Our main objection … is that there is no justification for treating air travel differently from just about everything else that consumers purchase, i.e. they pay for the price of goods and services and then pay tax. And that’s how everything is advertised, as the price of the item separately from the tax on that price,” Southwest spokeswoman Brandy King told CNN last month.

Spirit Airlines lashes out against new airfare rule - CNN.com

Well done, DoT. You have me agreeing with AIRLINES.

(via sexartandpolitics)

Don’t listen to Spirit Airlines, they are full of shit. The only reason they’re so up in arms is because they are THE nickel-and-dime airline. They publish $9 fares even though you have to pay an annual $59 (or more I think) subscription service to their “$9 club.” They charge for checked bags, AND carry-on bags.

Their entire business model is built around the kind of bullshit this law was created to stop. So yeah, they’re a little biased.

Also, when it comes to other goods and services, we usually know what the sales tax will be and any additional fees are usually disclosed… airlines get to surprise you when you click “purchase” and it’s like a slap in the face. How could an average Joe have known what random fees an airline was going to charge?

Anonymous asked: Whoa! All THREE? Well, since those are the only three that count, and everyone is probably one of them, the airline should be bullied into being a sort of Universalist church in the skies, right?

Oh hello, you must be new here.

I said that I was not offended. I did not say that it was not offensive in general or that it should be continued.

I guess since I usually try to push my own religious beliefs and love of organized religion on others—oh wait, that’s a complete lie since it doesn’t apply at all.

I am not represented (exclusively) by those faiths myself, so good try.

Your anon trolling was a misfire.

NAMASTE, BITCHHHH

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has turned her attention to an issue fusing together food, religion, travel and her home state.
Palin spoke out on Thursday against Alaska Airlines’ decision to stop including prayer cards with its meal trays. The airline announced the move a day earlier, ending the tradition that lasted for 30 years.
“Some customers were comforted by the cards and some didn’t feel religion was appropriate on the plane and preferred not to receive one,” Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Bobbie Egan told the Associated Press.
Palin was one of those comforted customers, voicing her frustration to millions of Facebook followers. In a note entitled “Alaska Airlines’ Prayer Cards; It’s hip to be offended?”, the former Alaska governor expressed her distaste toward the move.
“It feels so odd that some may be offended by a little card with an encouraging non-denominational verse from the Psalms, but how often do we hear complaints about tawdry ads or billboard images flashing at us everywhere we turn?,” Palin wrote. “People of faith and common decency just shrug and move on from the constant assault on their sensibilities; we don’t call for censorship — at least I don’t.”

Duh, Alaska Airlines, didn’t you know if some people like being preached at EVERYONE should have to put up with it, even if it’s not in the company’s best interest? Fuck!

Because no one has been oppressed by someone else’s righteous belief in One For Money starring Kathering Heigl… yet.
-Joe

While I am not offended at all by a reading from Psalms (after all, it’s an Interfaith book with roots in all three Abrahamic religions, but I understand the objection) I’m rather surprised that this is something Sarah Palin is even bothering to speak about.
Also, Sarah Palin is still a thing?

I hate when you waste an afternoon Tumblr stalking someone you know only to find out after 100 pages that there are no nudes is nothing that interests you.

Apparently Gingrich has forgotten that one of the huge points of his campaign is to “protect the sanctity of marriage.” If he hadn’t pretended to be a moral crusader out to save the world from the LGBT community, this question would have been out of place. Instead, a question about his infidelity (and his allegedly approaching his 2nd wife about an open marriage) that came about after his ex-wife’s recent interview is completely fair game.

If you think you can tell the country what is moral and immoral and then be surprised when we ask you about your second case of adultery (yes, he cheated on his first wife while she was dying in the hospital) you are obviously not a very smart man.

When you go home to your third wife tonight, I hope you sleep well as you continue your campaign to save marriage from vicious attacks by monogamous LGBT couples.
